Barsuglia Farms operates over 300 acres of farmland in the heart of Vineland, New Jersey’s agricultural district. We use the most modern farming techniques including plastic mulch, drip irrigation and row covers for frost protection. We are independently audited annually to ensure that our farming practices meet the highest standards for quality, sanitation and food safety.
Our operations are seated in the heart of the Garden State’s agricultural zones in Southern New Jersey. We have easy access to major east coast transportation routes and we offer limited delivery services to customers within our local zone. Click Here for a map of our local delivery zone.
Barsuglia Farms was founded back in 1949 by Walter Barsuglia. Walter started growing basic crops like green beans, cucumbers and sweet potatoes. Then in 1952, Maurice Barsuglia Sr. and his wife Elaine joined Walter in the farming operation. In time, they expanded the crops being raised to include lettuce, eggplant, and peppers. Maurice Sr. started looking for ways to improve his crops by experimenting with plastic mulch and drip irrigation. He continued to look for ways to grow the best quality produce until his passing in 1982.
In 1983, at the age of 26, Maurice Barsuglia Jr along with his mother Elaine and sister Debbie, took over the farming operations after his fathers passing. Taking the lessons learned and possessing his fathers passion for quality, Maurice Jr. expanded the operation by procuring more land and by expanding the varieties of produce being grown. He also implemented computerized soil moisture programs along with drip irrigation techniques to conserve water and energy, improving the quality of every package being sold.
Maurice Jr. is now joined by his son Brian Barsuglia, who started farming in 2005. Working together, they have further expanded farming operations to include greenhouse production, adding to an already thriving farming operation. Brian currently runs the day to day field operations for the farm among other responsibilities. He too is passionate about farming and the quality of crops grown, just like his father, grandfather and great grandfather before him, belonging to a great tradition in farming excellence. Brian is joined by his sister Kelly Pritchett who is responsible for record keeping for Harmonized GAPs certification, food safety, training and other records.
